Nour Restaurant: A New Take on Middle Eastern. Get the roasted chicken with truffle, artichoke and barley risotto. This dish blew my mind.
The incredible food at Nour really took me by surprise. Sure, they have a gorgeous interior, but I wasn’t expecting how creative and unusual their approach to Middle Eastern food was.
We started with the prawn Falafel – sweet perfectly cooked prawns wrapped in chickpea paste and fried. Delicious and served with a stunning black tahini that will definitely get all over your teeth haha!
Next we had the tender chargrilled octopus with braised fennel, olives, Yemeni pastry and romesco sauce. The octopus was crispy but tender and the sauce tied all the elements together.
As a side with our main, there was the eggplant, deepfried chickpeas and fresh herbs.
Finally, we had the roasted chicken with truffle, artichoke and barley risotto. This dish honestly blew my mind. The chicken was cooked PERFECTLY – skin beautifully rendered crispy and meat juicy and tender. And the truffles! Oh the truffles! Added the perfect hint of earthiness and fragrance.
Is it cheap? Definitely not. Is it good value? Most definitely.
